SGN have written to us as follows:

We will restart work in Redford Road/Colinton Road on Monday the 10 August and will last approximately six weeks. This work will be carried out by our contractor George Ritchie, Utilities on our behalf

During this project we are required to commission the gas mains previously laid and decommission the existing metallic apparatus. This will involve:

  • Redford Road closure to through vehicular traffic between Redford Drive and Colinton Road. Local access will still be maintained.
  • Closure of Thorburn Road junction with Colinton Road. Both these roads will not be closed at the same time.
  • Temporary signals will beCn place on Colinton Road which will likely cause delays during peak periods. These will be manually controlled throughout.

To help carryout these essential works parking suspensions will also be in place throughout.

UPDATE:

We’re also looking to restart work in the Corrennie Drive on Monday the 24 August; it will last approximately 3-4 weeks.
During this phase of the project there are no requirements for road closures or parking restrictions to be in place.

We wish to assure you that work will progress as quickly as possible and we will make every effort to minimise any inconvenience caused by our works.

We’re working closely with Scottish Government to make sure we carry out our project in line with all expert coronavirus guidance. We have extra safety precautions in place to protect our colleagues and our communities while we work. There’s more information about our coronavirus response on our website: sgn.co.uk/coronavirus

We’re writing to residents and other local stakeholders to make them aware of our project and explain the details of our work. Please feel free to also share this information with anyone you think may be impacted by our project.

If you have any specific enquiries about this project, please call us on 0800 912 1700 and our customer service team will be happy to help.

Thank you for your support during these challenging times.

Kind regards

Caroline
